In a world where the supernatural is often dismissed or misunderstood, my journey to faith began in the most unexpected way. Raised in a household devoid of religious belief, I never imagined that my life would take a dramatic turn through encounters with the unseen. What started as strange, unsettling experiences in my childhood ultimately led me down a path of fear and confusion—until a divine intervention brought me to a place of peace and freedom, I never thought possible. This is my story of how I found salvation in Christ, and how He delivered me from the darkness that once held me captive.
My background
I grew up in a non-religious household, where belief in anything beyond the physical world was dismissed. My family didn’t subscribe to any particular faith, and discussions about spirituality were very rare. However, my experiences were far from ordinary. From a young age, I had strange encounters where I conversed with creatures that were not of this realm. When I tried to share these moments with my family, they were either explained away as my imagination running wild or ignored entirely. Eventually, I stopped talking about them, hoping the experiences would disappear on their own.
But they didn’t. Instead, these encounters grew more intense as I grew older. Every night, I would dream that I was playing with children, and two adults would always be present, watching me. They would tell me that it was time to join them. Confused, I would ask what they meant, as I was already there playing with them. One of the adults explained that it was time to accept Satan as my lord. My response was always the same: “That’s not possible because my teacher said that Jesus is my Lord.”
The teacher I referred to was from Grade 4, a man who often smelled of alcohol but had once told me about Jesus. Interestingly, I never spoke these words—”Jesus is my Lord and Savior”—in real life, but they would come out naturally in my dreams.
The Turning Point
One evening, as my siblings and I were doing our homework with our mother’s help, those same adults from my dreams appeared again. This time, they were joined by a third figure dressed in black, whose face I couldn’t see. The two familiar figures were dressed in red and carried swords. They told me that since I had refused to join them, they were going to take me away. As their swords merged into one, they began to cut me in half from head to toe. The sword felt unbearably hot as it sliced through my body. Strangely, as they cut, a cold breeze would blow over the wound, healing and sealing it instantly. Despite the pain, I found myself shivering uncontrollably from the cold.
Everyone in the room noticed my trembling and was puzzled since it wasn’t cold at all. When my mother asked what was wrong, I was too scared to tell her the truth because the figures had warned me that she would die if I did. But my mother insisted, saying, “I’m willing to die.” So, I told her everything. To my surprise, she took me seriously for the first time. Although she had been raised a Muslim, attended a Catholic school, and later lost her faith, she decided that we should fast and pray for a week—to Jesus.
By the end of that week, I felt better, and the terrifying beings that had haunted me began to appear less frequently.
The Conversion Experience
One day, while standing outside and gazing up at the sky, I saw two hands emerge from the clouds, holding a book that opened before me. I believe it was a Bible. A verse was read out loud, but I couldn’t understand the language or recall the exact words. After the verse was read, the hands and the book disappeared back into the sky.
When I got to secondary school, the battle for my soul intensified. I felt isolated, with no one to turn to who could understand what I was going through.
The turning point came when a schoolmate, noticing my distress, introduced me to Jesus and the power of His love to bring freedom from fear and oppression. She talked about Jesus in a way I had never heard before—emphasizing that He could provide peace and deliverance from the things that troubled me. Though I was initially skeptical, her words struck a chord deep within me. She led me to Christ, and the experience was nothing short of phenomenal. As she prayed for me, I felt a heavy burden being lifted off my shoulders. I had never felt so light in my life.
A few days after the prayer, some people approached me on my way home from school, telling me that I wasn’t meant to be a Christian. But by then, something had changed within me.
Life as a Born-Again Christian
Since that day, my life has been transformed. With my schoolmate’s and other believers’ support, I began to grow in my faith. Prayer and fasting became regular parts of my life, and the encounters with those dark forces diminished. I found strength and peace in Christ that I had never known before.
I became actively involved in a Christian community, where I found the encouragement and support, I needed to continue on my spiritual journey. There were challenges, of course—moments of doubt and fear—but each one only strengthened my resolve to follow Jesus.
The greatest blessing since becoming a Christian has been the freedom I now experience. No longer am I tormented by those dark forces; instead, I walk in the light of Christ’s love and protection.
Encouragement and Advice
To anyone considering becoming a Christian or curious about faith, I would say this: don’t be afraid to reach out to Jesus. He is real, and He has the power to bring freedom and healing into your life, just as He did for me. No matter how dark your situation may seem, there is hope in Christ.
For new believers, my advice is to stay rooted in prayer and stay connected to a community of faith. Surround yourself with people who will encourage you and help you grow. And remember, no matter the challenges you face, God is always with you.
One Bible verse that has been particularly meaningful to me is Psalm 34:4: “I sought the Lord, and He answered me; He delivered me from all my fears.” This verse has been a constant reminder of God’s faithfulness and His ability to deliver us from anything that holds us captive.
Final Thoughts
I am eternally grateful for the grace that found me and the freedom I now enjoy in Christ. If there’s one thing I’ve learned, God is always ready to meet us where we are, no matter how far we’ve strayed or how deep our struggles are. His love is truly unfailing.

Altar Call Prayer
Dear Lord Jesus,
I acknowledge that I am a sinner, and I need Your forgiveness. I believe that You died for my sins and rose again so that I could have eternal life. Right now, I turn from my sins and open the door of my heart and life to You. I confess You as my personal Lord and Savior. Thank You for saving me and giving me the gift of eternal life. Help me to live for You and follow You all the days of my life. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
